Capital Health Achieves Breakthrough in AI-Powered Tuberculosis Screening Published in Nature

Capital Health Screening Centre in Abu Dhabi, part of the M42 group, is proud to announce groundbreaking results from one of the world’s largest population-based studies on AI-powered tuberculosis (TB) screening. This large-scale study represents one of the most significant real-world clinical validations of Artificial Intelligence in healthcare, with over one million chest X-rays (CXRs) analyzed to evaluate its effectiveness in detecting TB.

The research assessed Capital Health Screening Centre’s AI Radiology in Screening TB (AIRIS-TB) model, which empowers radiologists by enabling them to focus on more complex cases. The model achieved an outstanding Area Under the Receiver Operating Characteristic Curve (AUROC) of 98.5% and recorded a 0% false-negative rate across the dataset. These results demonstrate exceptional levels of accuracy, safety, and scalability.
